Nutrition Coaching

Nutrition Coaching

Nutrition Coaching is an often overlooked component of health and wellness care that, when properly utilized, can give an individual the edge needed to reach his or her goals and achieve real results. There is a wealth of conflicting information regarding nutrition, food, and diets spread by the media and those with special interests. It’s no wonder that the average person has no idea what to eat for optimum health and performance. With the assistance of a Nutrition Coach, a client can expect to:

  • Identify his or her personal nutrition concerns and goals
  • Develop a specific plan of action to address concerns and reach goals
  • Learn how to distinguish between media and marketing hype and evidence-based, scientifically proven nutrition facts.
  • Discover which foods support the client’s goals, as well as where to find and how to prepare those foods

Common goals for Nutrition Coaching clients:

  • Lose weight
  • Improve personal performance
  • Improve athletic performance
  • Increase energy
  • Improve digestion
  • Address specific health issues complicated by food, such as headaches, sleep quality, joint inflammation, blood sugar maintenance, heart health
  • Reduce dependence on certain foods/substances such as sugar, caffeine, and processed foods
  • Learn how to shop for and prepare the right foods for one’s goals
  • Be able to dine out, order take out, or eat convenience foods without derailing one’s progress
  • Address emotional issues related to food and eating
